The latest release of Office 2013 will not support PCs that run on Windows XP or Vista. Microsoft spokesperson said, The systems supported by Office will be Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2012.
The hardware requirements for Microsoft Office 2013 include at least a 1GHz processor, 1GB of RAM for the 32-bit version and 2GB for the 64-bit version, 3GB of free hard disk space, and a graphics card that can provide at least a resolution of 1024 x 576.
Net applications has published data that indicates that as of now 51% of PCs are still either running Windows XP or Windows Vista and only 42% systems have Windows 7 on them. Considering these numbers, Office 2013 won’t be able to run on more than half of PCs across the globe. Windows XP, Vista and 7 users will be able to upgrade to Windows 8 for just $39.99.
