Kerala Tourism Launched App For Android, iOS Operating Systems
Kerala Tourism has launched a new mobile-based WAP guide and applications for iOS and Android smartphones and tablets to guide tourists visiting the state.

The department will also install Bluetooth Kiosks to provide real-time information to the tourists landing in Kerala, the Kiosks will come up at key places such as the international airports.

The mobile applications in the smartphone will identify the current location of the user and guide him about nearby attractions. Along with it app has incorporated features like 'Places of Interest' and 'Tourist Guide' to offer tourists the interesting travel spots within Kerala. There is a tour planner too, based on the timings, locations and interests.

A P Anil Kumar , tourism Minister of Kerala while launching the app hoped that the state would soon emerge as a destination more sought-after than in the past with a traveler having all information they wanted on fingertips.

The WAP site will provide all facilities currently available for the sate tourism website to those who are connected through their smart phones.

These apps and WAP sites will get continuous tourism updates in line with the information on the tourism website and events. There is also share option where the traveler can share pictures and messages with the dear ones in real time.

The 'Kerala Tourism' website attracts 7,000-8,000 visits per day and more than 2.5 million a year.

It is also active on social media like YouTube with three million video views a year. It has 1.76 lakh fans on FaceBook and 9,500 followers on Twitter.
