HTC Desire VC Dual-SIM Android Smartphone Available Online for Rs. 21,999

HTC has launched another handset HTC Desire VC in India and it is available online retailer at snapdeal.com for Rs. 21,999. HTC Desire VC runs on Android 4.0 with HTC sense 4.0. It is a dual-active (CDMA + GSM) smartphone and supports a CDMA and GSM number. 

    

It sports a 4-inch touchscreen display and there is a 5 MP Auto camera with flash on board. Other feature includes 4GB internal memory, expandable up to 32 GB, 1 GHz Cortex-A5 processor and 1650mAh Li-Ion battery. Just like it other smartphones HTC is also offering 25 GB dropbox space along with this handset.

HTC is also bundling HTC Desire VC with TATA Docomo, where in the new CDMA post-paid subscribers will get double talktime (that is Rs. 398 on Diet 199 Plan for 3 bill-cycles) and 2GB EvDO data per month free for 1 year. While the pre-paid CDMA customers will get double talktime on select recharges for the first 180 days and 1GB EvDO data per month for the first six months.

Samsung had Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos SCH-i589 in February 2012, which came with dual-SIM Dual Active technology that allows consumers to be available on CDMA and GSM numbers, all the time and this is HTC's first contender in the same segment.

HTC had launched another dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) dual standby smartphone HTC Desire V and HTC Desire C in India.

10-inch BlackBerry PlayBook Come Out Online

Research in Motion (RIM) announced a 10-inch version of its PlayBook tablet. Now a Vietnamese website Tinhte, has posted pictures of a 10-inch BlackBerry PlayBook and also indicated that this tablet can be a reality very soon.

It has similar design as the 7-inch PlayBook that is already in the market and the size is said to be similar to the iPad with a width of about 7.9-inches.

It has a 7250 mAh (26.82WHr) battery and will also have a SIM card slot probably to support 4G LTE network.

There are no further details available with regards to the specifications or expected pricing for the 10-inch BlackBerry PlayBook.

Apple Announced iPhone 5 Release Date

iMore is reporting that Apple will announce the new iPhone and iPad Mini on September 12 for release on September 21. Last year Apple released it's fifth generation iPhone 4S which was added with an amazing new feature Siri.

There's also a news that the new iPhone 5 and the iPad mini will be announced on the same day, probably 12th of September and both of these gadgets will hit the market 9 days after the launch, 21st September. Apple Says 3 Million Mountain Lion Downloaded In First 4 Days

Apple says Mac users downloaded 3 million copies of Mountain Lion, its latest operating system, in the first four days it was available.

That makes it the fastest launch of an Apple operating system ever, the company says. 

Apple charges $20 for the software. That pays for downloads for all of a buyer's personal computers.

Apple also provides the OS for free to buyers who bought a Mac on or after June 11.

Mountain Lion brings features from the iPhone and iPad to the Mac. The enhancements include tight integration with Apple's online storage service, iCloud, and a "Notification Center" that shows incoming mail, calendar reminders and other events.

Microsoft Surface Tablet Launch Date Confirmed

Microsoft has confirmed that the It's first Windows 8/RT Surface tablets will go on sale at the same date as Windows 8, on October 26.

"The next version of our operating system, Windows 8, will be generally available on October 26, 2012. At that time, we will begin selling the Surface, a series of Microsoft-designed and manufactured hardware devices," Microsoft said in its annual report filed this week with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Pricing on Surface tablets isn't clear at this point, but Microsoft has previously stated that Surface prices will be in line with comparable ARM tablets or Intel ultrabook PCs, hinting at a range of $500-$1000.

Fly Or Die: Google Nexus 7

Ever since I/O and the unveiling of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the blogosphere has been measuring Google’s new Nexus 7 tablet. The verdict in almost every case is good, including our very own iPad lover’s take.

John and I thus found it only fitting to bring the little 7-inch tablet into the studio for Fly or Die. The tablet, with a 7-inch IPS 1280×800 display, a Tegra 3 quad-core processor, and the latest version of Android, didn’t fail to impress.

And the specs have very little to do with it. Sure, that Tegra 3 proc probably contributes quite a bit to the snappiness of the tablet, but the display isn’t anything to write home about, nor is the measly 8GB of on board storage. (I know there’s a 16Gb model, but without external memory you’ll be walking around with a rather "light" amount of content.)

What makes the tablet great is that it’s the first truly premium tablet available in this size and price range. Amazon’s Kindle Fire is great but it isn't really a computer replacement the way the iPad is, but rather a mobile Amazon content portal. And the iPad, though exceptional in performance and usability, is a little large and way too expensive to fit into the category.

The Nexus 7 fills that gap, and so we believe it’ll fly and fly into many a home. It’s already sold out once.

The real question is whether or not it’ll still have such high demand once Apple unveils that long-awaited iPad mini. September will be here before you know it.

Google Adds 'Handwrite' Search For Mobiles and Tablets

Google has officially introduced 'Handwrite' a new way to search in mobile and tablet with a touch-screen. The new feature enables you to write your search term with your finger instead of typing it into the search field.

The best part is that you can type anywhere on the screen without having to strain your eyes on a keyboard eating away half your screen.

For Handwrite to work, you're required to enable the feature by going to Google.com on your mobile or tablet. Tap 'Settings' at the bottom of the screen and enable Handwrite. You might want to refresh the page for the new settings to take effect.

Once enabled, you'll see a bar at the bottom displaying 4 icons. Tapping the 'g' button will allow you to type in your own handwriting. There's also a space bar button and a delete button. Once you start typing, Google reveals the autocomplete searches indicated by an arrows next to them.

Handwrite is currently available in 27 different languages, and also Google shared a promotional video that previews this new functionality.

Google In Trouble Over Streetview Information

Google is in trouble over information it collected from people's computers whilst getting pictures for Google Street View.

Google Street View allows you to zoom to a point on a map and get a view similar to one you'd see if you were stood there yourself.

In order to do this Google sent out cars to record images in lots of places around the world.

But they didn't just record photographs.

In May 2012 it was revealed they also recorded information from some UK homes that had wi-fi that wasn't protected by a password.

This information is private and there are rules in this country to make sure it this personal information doesn't get into the wrong hands.

And by scooping up the information Google were breaching those rules.

The UK's Information Commissioner (ICO) told Google to delete all the information, and Google in December 2010 the said they had done this.

But now it has been revealed they still haven't deleted people's information and its still on their computers.

The ICO have responded with by saying, "It is clear that this information should never have been collected in the first place and the company's failure to secure its deletion as promised is cause for concern".

Apple Buys Fingerprint Sensor Company AuthenTec For $356M

Apple Inc., has purchased mobile security firm AuthenTec for around $356 million. AuthenTec provides mobile security solutions for various platforms, including Android, and the company has worked with Apple in the past for security solutions for Mac OS. AuthenTec has provided fingerprint scanning solutions for Mac OS X, and more recently signed a mobile VPN agreement with Samsung for its Android devices.

AuthenTec also offers integrated security chips for smartphones, which can encrypt data and make mobile devices more enterprise-ready, as well as network security solutions.

Sony Xperia Mint LT30p New Smartphone Leaked Online

Sony is all set to launch another Android smartphone called as Xperia mint LT30p. The smartphone has been leaked online and specifications have been revealed.

According to a report in Mobile-Review, the smartphone features a 4.3-inch HD (1280x720) display, 1.5GHz Qualcomm S4 processor, 1GB of RAM , 16 GB internal storage and 13MP camera with LED flash. It will also come with Android 4.0, front camera, NFC and microSD card support.

Mobile-Review further states that the smartphone uses virtual Android buttons similar to Galaxy Nexus and will have a dedicated camera button.

Sony seems to be following the Samsung strategy by launching several smartphones in different budget segments and Xperia Mint will cater to the high-end buyers.

There is no word on the actual launch right now, but we expect to see it at the IFA trade fair.

Google Nexus 7 Was Designed To Have A Rear Camera

The Google Nexus 7 tablet arrives with an extremely affordable $199 price for the basic 8GB model, and one shortcut Google had to take to arrive at that is the rear camera - the 7-inch tablet doesn’t have one, instead it only features a front-facing cameras fit for video calls but little else. 

That shouldn’t be a deal breaker for most of you since shooting pictures with your tablet might not be the best idea, but interestingly it seems that Asus and Google initially planned to include a rear camera. Or at least the whole design is built around that idea. Or Asus just used a previous design. 

In either case, there is an empty spot for where the camera should have been placed with all the connectors, but... no camera. It’s all evident in a detailed unboxing by XDA Devs - the camera part starts at around the 5:30 mark, so check it out below.

SWYPE Keyboard Get Hinglish Supports for Android Phone

Nuance Communications Inc. has announced that Swype keyboard app would now support Hinglish language – a mixture of Hindi and English. It would allow Android phone users to type Hindi words using English alphabets through swype method.

Swype is a unique way to type on touchscreen devices. Using this method, a user doesn't punch in the individual keys to type a sentence but uses swipes on the screen, connecting alphabets that are required in a word. This means the user doesn't have to take off the finger from the screen. While this method of typing doesn't suit everyone, those who have adapted to it have found it faster and convenient compared to the traditional method.

Micromax Will Launch 10.1 inch Funbook Pro Android Tablet Soon

Micromax is all set to launch a larger 10.1-inch variant of the Funbook tablet which it calls the Funbook Pro in the Indian market according to Micromax official website. This tablet will run Android Ice Cream Sandwich.

Google Adds Scientific Calculator in It's Search Page

Google has launched a new feature that displays a scientific calculator as well as the results of your calculation. The company's new 34-button calculator appears when you enter such a problem in the search box, as you can see from the image above. 

Previously, the search engine displayed the calculation and its answer. Microsoft's Bing still performs that way. It also works from mobile devices. The calculator gives users ability to do everything from arithmetic to trigonometric calculations.

Users can also use Google's voice search feature found in mobile version and in Chrome web browser to do calculations without touching keyboard. If you say "the square root of Pi times three" then see the result.

Apple Announced a New Next-Gen iPod Touch with a 4 inch Display

The next generation iPad Touch might feature a 4 inch display along with a brand new A5 processor and a buffed aluminum back for the classic look.

Apple, the makers of iPhone, is working on a new iPod player which will feature a buffed all aluminum back for that classic look and appeal, according to a website - macotakara.jp. This website said this quoting some internal sources in Apple.

Apple has been quite for a long time now regarding the upgrade to its iPod Touch range of portable media players. Earlier there were rumors that Apple will be giving an iPhone's look to the iPod Touch devices that will be coming in the future. But the recent revelation is contrary to the existing rumors.

"The new iPod Touch (5th generation) will have 4 inch LCD which is the same size with coming iPhone 5. CPU or other spec is considered to be same with iPhone 4S, and has different back-case design, which will be not mirror polished but buffed aluminum one. And it seems to be prepared black and white colour model," the website quoted the sources as saying.

"This iPod Touch has an additional hole on lower part of back case other than the camera, although there is no idea about this hole for what purpose," told the so called "Asian" sources to the website.

If everything goes by what the source tells them we will soon see the launch of the next generation for iPod Touch media player that too with a bigger 4 inch display along with a faster dual core A5 processor as well. But as of now nothing concrete can be said as Apple is yet to comment on the same.

INTEX i-Buddy 7-inch Tablet Launched with Free Keyboard for Rs. 6490

Indian mobile phone maker INTEX has launched its 7-inch Android tablet called the INTEX i-Buddy. It comes with 7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and is powered by 1 GHz processor. It has an ultra-slim design with 9mm thickness which the company claims makes it the slimmest 7-inch tablet in India. It also has front-facing camera for easy video chatting using apps like skype. This is the second tablet from Intex with the first tablet being the 8 inch Intex i-Tab launched in March this year.

Lenovo Launches World's Slimmest IdeaCentre A720 All-in-One Computer in India for Rs 89,990

Lenovo has launched its latest All-in-one computer called the IdeaCentre A720 in India. Lenovo claims that it is the world’s slimmest All-in-One PC and unique to the product is its foldable 27-inch display which is also equipped with capacitive touch screen technology with support for a 10 multi-touch points, which converts the PC into a tabletop.

Lenovo touts the fact that the A720 is the world’s first All-in-one with a 27-inch frameless display and is just 24.5mm thick.

The All-in-One is powered by Intel's latest and greatest third generation core i7 processor, Nvidia GT 630M with up to 2GB of memory, a 27-inch full HD display with multi-touch, up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, 1TB of HDD storage or 64GB of SSD storage, integrated stereo speakers and a Blu-ray or DVD-RW drive.

Few days back Huawei has announced new Ascend series smartphones G300 and Y200 in india and now they are available for buy in india.
