Sony announced Xperia T, Xperia V and Xperia J Android 4.0 smartphones at IFA 2012

In IFA 2012, Sony has introduced its three new range of Xperia smartphones based on Android 4.0.4 ICS called - Xperia T, Xperia J and Xperia V. These smartphones would be available globally from coming month.

Company has also revealed that Xperia T, which will be available as Xperia TX in some markets. It comes with 4.6-inch HD Reality display (1280 x720) resolution, 13MP rear camera and 1.5GHz dual-core processor. Google India Launches "Let's Talk Mo" service - Create Mobile Site for free

Google India has come up with a new service called 'Let's Talk Mo', which aims to enable small and medium businesses to reach out to the 70 million mobile users in the country. With the Let's Talk Mo service, Google will help businesses create mobile sites for free.

"With Indian smartphone users spending over 157 mins daily on the mobile web (89 percent of them are searching for information), the user-experience is not optimized for the mobile screen as most Indian websites are still designed for the PC experience," points out Google India in a blog post.

Google India is offering the businesses two options – create a mobile site for free, and test how user friendly your mobile website. For this purpose, Google has launched a dedicated website that gives users all the necessary tools and resources 

Explaining the benefits of Let's Talk Mo service, Google says the GoMoMeter tool allows businesses to check how their site looks on a smartphone. The tool also helps them get personalized recommendations to make their website more user-friendly.

Apple iPad mini to Launch in October after iPhone 5 Released

According to the AllThingsD, Apple will launch iPad Mini in October after the release of the latest version of its iPhone 5 in September 12.

Only after the next-generation iPhone is out the door and on sale will Apple announce the smaller iPad it’s been working on. That device, which is expected to have a display of less than eight inches, will be uncrated at a second special event, which sources said is currently scheduled for October.

According to ABC news, the smaller iPad is expected to have a 7.85-inch display, be less expensive than the current iPad, and have a smaller charging port.

Facebook recently updates its iPhone and android apps and now they changing look and feel for Facebook Messages page on the site. 

The revamped look for Facebook messages has a side-by-side layout that means, the left hand side has a list of all the most recent conversations and messages, while the right has the entire conversation. Users now also have the option of adding multiple photos and emoticons to their messages.

Qualcomm to Launch LG Optimus G Smartphone with S4 Pro quad-core Snapdragon Processor

Qualcomm has announced that they are working with LG and going to launch a new Qualcomm's quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro-based smartphone called - LG Optimus G. It would be available first in South Korea in next couple of weeks and globally soon thereafter.

It comes with a 13-megapixel camera, 4.7-inch 720p IPS True HD display, 2GB of RAM and runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with LGs Optimus 3.0 UI.

The most powerful feature of quad-core CPU Snapdragon S4 APQ8064 Pro processor will supports VoLTE - Voice communication support over LTE network.

Flickr Brings New Features UI Tweaks, HTML Support and More for Its Android Apps

One of the first things that the Interwebosphere asked of Marissa Mayer when she took over as CEO of Yahoo was to fix Flickr, and to make it great again. Meyer has obviously taken that suggestion to heart as she has already doubled the number of people on the Flickr team, and now the Flickr app for Android has gotten a huge update. 

The app has gotten a complete overhaul of the UI, adding the tabbar at the bottom to make it easier to navigate and find interesting content. The Explore feature has been refreshed with swipe gestures to navigate between photos. But, one of the best new options is that the app allows you to choose from any of the camera apps installed on your device to take a picture, so you can stick with the stock camera, or get fancy with an HDR app, or get faux-fancy with Instagram.

Advanced users haven't been left out either. The search function now shows HTML content in comments and descriptions, so you can easily link and add information. And, the app can also now edit metadata on images, which is a big one for pro users. 

If you want to try out the new Flickr app, it's available for free in the Google Play Store.

Amazon Kindle e-book Store hits in India

Amazon has announced that the Kindle Store is now available in India. Featuring over a million titles, the store allows consumers to purchase e-books in Indian rupees. The company has also revealed that the Kindle e-reader will now retail at Chroma stores across India.

The availability of Kindle e-reader in India will cut the long process that consumers used to face while importing it from Amazon.com until now. The e-reader has been priced starting Rs, 6,999.

According to Amazon, the Indian Kindle e-book store features titles from a range of Indian authors, including Chetan Bhagat, Ashwin Sanghi, Ravinder Singh and Amish Tripathi. There are some exclusive titles in the store as well such as "Love, Life and a Beer Can" by Prashant Sharma, and "Reality Bites; a not so innocent Love Story" by Anurag Anand.

"We are proud to launch this new Kindle store for Indian customers - offering Kindle book purchases in rupees and the ability to buy and read the work of many great Indian authors," said Russ Grandinetti, vice president of Kindle Content, Amazon.com.

Originally announced in 2007, Amazon has released a total of four generations of the e-reader until now. The latest generation Kindle Touch model features a 6-inch E-ink touch display, 4GB on-board storage and Wi-Fi/3G connectivity.

Apart from the availability of India Kindle Store and Kindle e-reader in India, the retail giant has also launched Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) for independent authors and publishers in India. KDP is easy way for authors and publishers to make their books available to Kindle customers in India and around the world on both Kindle devices and free Kindle reading apps.

MTS also offers free voice on-net (MTS to MTS) local calls for 3 months and unlimited data usage options with these smartphones. Sistema Shyam TeleServices (SSTL) will also offer free access to MTS TV for 1 month from date of activation to its smartphone users.

Acer Announces Two New Android Smartphones - Liquid Gallant Solo and Duo

Acer announce to launch two new budget-friendly Ice Cream Sandwich-powered smartphones - the Liquid Gallant Solo and Liquid Gallant Duo. The Liquid Gallant and Liquid Gallant Duo (Dual SIM) are essentially the same device, although the latter comes with dual-SIM connectivity.

These smartphones features include a 4.3-inch qHD capacitive display, 1GHz MT6575 processor, Android ICS 4.0.4 OS, 1GB RAM, 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, Swype keyboard and 1500 mAh battery. Sony Reported - 2.2 Million Playstation Vita Units Sold Globally

Today Sony PlayStation Germany boss, Uwe Bassendowski has unveiled that the PlayStation Vita has reached 2.2 million units sold globally as of 30th June 2012. The figure was first reported by German gaming website PlayFront.de.

The Vita, which launched in February 2012 for $250, recorded sales of 1.8 million units in May. Q2 sales were 400,000 units. The more recent quarterly earnings report for April-June revealed combined sales of 1.4 million units for the PSP and the Vita together.

In India, the Vita is priced exorbitantly with the Wi-Fi model costing Rs. 19,990 and the WiFi + 3G model priced at Rs. 24,990. Despite the fact that the PSP sold almost 2.5 times more that the Vita, Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida firmly stated that the device would not see a price drop anytime this year.

The Vita stands direct competition from Nintendo's 3DS, which sold 6.68 million units worldwide as recorded in September last year. This was a month after the handheld received a price cut from $250 to $170. Recently, the company launched the Nintendo 3DS XL in the US, a successor to their Nintendo 3DS.

Nintendo 3DS XL Available to Buy in US for $200

Nintendo 3DS XL was announced in june and now company has officially launched the Nintendo 3DS XL in the US. The redesigned handheld already launched in Japanese and European markets on July 28.

Dubbed as the 3DS's big brother, the handheld hit store shelves in North America this weekend for $200.

The 3DS XL, sports a 4.88-inch upper screen and a 4.18-inch lower screen. In comparison, the original 3DS handheld has a 3.53-inch upper screen and 3.02-inch lower screen. The updated version also boasts a longer battery life, according to Nintendo, and comes with a 4GB SD card.

The 3DS XL also features twice the capacity of the original 3DS, boasting 4GB of storage compared to the smaller version’s 2GB.

The Nintendo 3DS XL comes with in either red or blue finishes, and supplied with a power adapter. Unlike gamers in the UK who had to buy a power adapter separately.

Panasonic Launched Android NFC Apps for Control Smart Appliances in Home

Japan based company, Panasonic has announced a new Android app for home automation alongside a range of smart appliances, including refrigerators, air conditioners, and healthcare products. Dubbed Panasonic Smart App, the program will build on NFC functionality already provided for the company's latest steam ovens and rice cookers, allowing users to program settings and transfer information such as recipes.

A new Smart App-compatible washing machine will be available from September 25th in Japan, with a refrigerator and air conditioner coming in the following months. Unlike most of the appliances, the air conditioner will be internet-connected, allowing users to control it from outside the home. This particular function will also be provided through an iPhone app, while other equipment will be excluded due to the current iPhone's lack of NFC.

Panasonic has not yet revealed any information on international availability, but, given the appliances' domestic focus — as well as NFC, they function with Sony's proprietary FeliCa RFID technology and NTT DoCoMo's Osaifu-Keitai — they may be confined to Japan for some time.

LG's 5-inch phablet Optimus Vu Launching Globally Soon

LG Electronics announched, that they will launch its LG Optimus Vu in global markets including Europe, Asia, Middle East/Africa and Latin America starting from September. LG allready sold 500,000 units of Optimus Vu since its debut in Korea in March and it launched in Japan earlier this month.

It comes with Tegra 3 quad-core processor, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 5-inch display (1024 × 768 Pixels) with a 4:3 aspect ratio, 32GB of internal storage, 8MP auto focus camera with LED Flash, 1.3MP front camera, 3G connectivity and HDMI, DLNA and Wi-Fi Direct support.

Falling in the phablet category, the smartphone will compete with Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Note 2. There is no word on the pricing yet.

Optimus Vu also comes with pre-install apps like facebook, twitter and QuickMemo.

Micromax Announced Two new Low Priced Tablets in Coming Month

Micromax has launched Funbook Pro 10.1-inch Tablet for Rs. 9,999 in july and now they announce to launch two more new low cost tablets called as - Funbook Alpha and Funbook Infinity in Indian market.

The Micromax Funbook Alpha will have a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen and a 0.3 megapixel front camera. The tablet will be powered by a 1GHz A8 processor, and will run Android 4.0 ICS operating system. It will come engineered with a 2800mAh battery. The Micromax Funbook Alpha will have 4GB Flash memory, which will be expandable up to 32GB. The tablet will be priced under Rs 6,500.

On the other hand, the Funbook Infinity will also feature a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen and a 1 Ghz A8 processor, but it will sport a 2 megapixel front camera and a 0.3 megapixel rear camera. The Micromax Funbook Infinity tablet will also have dual front speakers.

The Funbook Infinity will come packed with a 4000 mAh battery. It will also run Android 4.0 ICS OS. The Funbook Infinity will be priced slightly above Rs 6,500, which is the price at which the company priced its first tablet - Funbook. "We will come up with these two tablets in next two to three weeks," said Deepak Mehrotra, CEO, Micromax.

Also, the company has announced to launch its two new low-cost phones - Micromax Ninja 3.5 and Micromax Ninja 4.0 - by the end of this month.

RNC Launched 'Tampa 2012' Mobile Apps for iOS and Android

The 2012 Tampa Bay Host Committee for the Republican National Convention and the Committee on Arrangements launched a joint mobile application that provides delegates, media and other guests the ability to easily navigate the RNC and the Tampa Bay region.   

  

The application, or app, provides users the ability to watch live Convention coverage and share their experiences via social media networks.  Other features include maps, transportation and weather information, local news and Florida fun facts.

And everyone who downloads the app will be among the first group of people to see the official convention schedule when it comes out. You’ll get the schedule for August 27th a week in advance, the schedule for August 28th the next day, and so on and so forth.

The mobile application, "Tampa 2012" is available on Apple and Android platforms and was developed for the Host Committee and the convention by AT&T, the Official Wireless Provider of the 2012 Republican National Convention.

Sony new Android Xperia SL Officially Announced on Sony Website

Sony officially listed new smartphone the Xperia SL as "coming soon" on sony's website. It's a successor to the Sony Xperia S smartphone.

It has a 4.3-inch scratch-resistant TFT touchscreen with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The phone runs Google Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) OS and is powered by a 1.7 GHz Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon S3 dual-core processor.

Sony Xperia SL also comes with a 12.1 megapixel rear camera with auto focus and LED flash, 1.3MP front facing camera, 1GB of RAM and  internal storage of 27.8GB (up to 25.8GB user-accessible memory).
