Google’s first branded tablet is rumored to debut at its I/O developer conference.An anonymous ASUS representative tells Android Authority that the Taiwanese vendor is making the tablet, adding that the device will launch at the end of June during Google’s I/O developer conference.
The source did not reveal any new specification details. However, previous rumors suggest that the tablet will tip up with a 7-inch display, a quad-core Tegra 3 chipset and will run either Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) or Jelly Bean, thenext iteration of Android. The tablet is expected to have a price between $150 and $250.
This news is the latest in a line of leaks on a possible Google tablet, but the search giant may find itself in an instant dog fight with Apple in the budget tablet market. The Cupertino giant is expected to get the jump on Google by launching a 7-inch tablet of its own at its WWDC later today.
