World Most Visited Website on the Map

This world map represents the most popular visited websites by each country. No big surprises here Google and Facebook are two of the world’s most visited websites, with Google receiving the most unique visitors per month and Facebook generating the highest amount of page views. Yahoo is still the most visited website in Japan and Congo while Baidu is the Google of China in every sense.

The data was arrived from the Alexa (Alexa is the leading provider of global web metrics) rankings of websites per country but there are other ways to estimate traffic ranks and they should paint a similar picture. A larger version of the map is available at The Atlantic.

In terms of global traffic, Facebook receives an estimated 870 million unique visitors generating around 1 trillion page views per month. YouTube (owned by Google), although not the most visited website in any country, does rank 3rd in the world with an estimated 790 million unique visitors and 100 billion pages views. Google trumps both, attracting in excess of 1 billion unique visitors each month.
