Jolla, a company headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, formed by former Nokia employees working on MeeGo software have said that they will launch MeeGo operating system based smartphones later this year.
MeeGo operating system which was together designed by Nokia and Intel was unceremoniously dumped by Nokia, despite the first and the only phone based on it doing well and receiving rave reviews, in favour of Microsoft Windows Phone operating system.
Now a Finland based startup called Jolla, formed by directors and core professionals from Nokia's MeeGo N9 organisation has said that it will launch smartphones based on the Meego by this year end.
The company has been developing a new smartphone based on Meego since the end of 2011. The operating system has in the process improved and will come with a brand new user interface.
