Acer India has announced that it has tied up with Vaulten, a cloud service provider, and will be providing free 2GB cloud space on a private cloud network to its customers.
Under this offer, customers who will be buying laptops from company's Veriton, TravelMate, Gateway or Aspire series, will be able be getting the free cloud storage. For customers who wish to get space beyond the existing 2GB, Acer and Vaulten are also offers various subscription plans up to 1TB.
Commenting on the association, S. Rajendran, Chief Marketing Officer, Acer India said, "We have been committed to providing innovative solutions that enrich the lives of our consumers and we are extremely pleased to announce our association with Vaulten. Transforming the way computing is managed and delivered, we are confident that this will be a strategic differentiator for Acer in the long term. Through our association with Vaulten, we are confident of offering tremendous value-add to our consumers whose biggest fear is efficient data storage and security."
Anil Mathews, VP-Partnerships, Vaulten said, "In the last couple of years, we have witnessed an accelerated demand for quick secure access to data anywhere and anytime. We are confident that this trend will increase the demand and requirement of cloud services. Acer consumers can now enjoy and experience Vaulten's next generation online backup facility."
In the recent times, it has become a trend to offer free cloud space with a purchase of smartphone but Acer seems to be starting a similar trend in the laptop segment as well.
